Mapillai Samba Flour is made from the traditional, nutrient-rich Mapillai Samba rice, a native red rice variety of Tamil Nadu, India. Known as the "Bridegroom’s Rice", it was historically consumed by grooms to build strength and stamina before their wedding—hence the name Mapillai (groom) Samba.
This flour is made by stone-grinding the whole Mapillai Samba grain, preserving its bran, germ, and endosperm, making it a high-fiber, iron-rich, and gluten-free alternative to regular rice or wheat flour. It has a slightly nutty flavor and is ideal for preparing dosas, pancakes, porridges, and traditional South Indian dishes.
