Thanga Samba

    Thanga samba is one of the traditional rice varieties. It got its name due to its color which looks like gold (Thangam in Tamil). 

    This comes under the white rice category and it is the best alternative to polished white rice. This is said to increase the longevity of human beings.

APPLICATION

    This variety is native to the Kanchipuram district in Tamil Nadu. It takes 160 - 165 days to get cultivated. This grain is golden in color, fine in texture is very long that can also be used for the preparation of Pulao and biriyani dishes.
